Do not worry. You do not need to know every last little thing about a real estate transaction in order to have a successful and pleasant experience. We were dumb as dirt when we bought our first two properties. We lucked out and had ethical, kind pros who helped us and took care of everything. All we had to do was say “We want that one”, then sign the mass of papers and accept the keys.
The real estate process was not as open back then as it is now. There was no internet, no online tutorials…. just books and seminars. After getting lucky on our first 2 purchases in the early 1980’s, we read everything we could find on real estate….buying, selling, repairing and land lording. With a friend and his family (yes, the kids and wives were involved) we bought and rehabilitated beat up property for fun and profit as a hobby.
Later, we got our real estate licenses and began having fun the whole time. This blog and its pod casts and videos (coming soon) are an attempt to share our experiences with you, to take away as much fear of the process as we can and to make you a confident, knowledgeable participant in the real estate adventure.
